all started from though.... I dont think I got a TT pump when I started making my comparisons. A local shop told me they had one and let me borrow it for checking for differences and I am not suspect that they gave me an NA pump and not a TT pump, although the one they gave me was slightly different in the casings. Obviously if this is the case, you can see why my argument was so forceful. I was *convinved* I was right and not having seen any other TT pump, I felt my conclusion was very well founded. I do afgree with you though, it turned into a childish game of dirtball tossing. As for the holier than thou attitude that people think I carry, I will state here and I hope as many members read this as possible. I post informtion the way it comes to my mind based on what I know. I go into great detail in many cases because I want the average joe to be able to understand it. I think that a lot of you guys who know a lot about Z's/mechanical stuff get the impression that my elaborate posts are to try and put myself into that "holier than thou" category so many of you smart guys are putting me into. I think I come up with a lot cool, useful stuff for our community here and I share all of it. I have given my time and effort on things that others have charged arms and legs for. I dont feel holier than them, or better than them, I'm just not into that stuff for the money. I give information that I believe is true to the best of my abilities and sometimes my information isn't always correct. I know I'm not perfect and I will stand and take the shame when I am wrong. The last thing I want to give out here is improper information. This oil pump issue really does need resolution though, we NEED to know what both pumps look like inside and out. It is a very vital aspect of building a TT engine from an NA engine donor. The surprising thing aobut all of this though is that my oil pressure is still 50-60psi when warmed up. IT is higher than that when cold, but that doesn't count. I'm just really curious about the facts of this all and I think it is something that needs to be addressed in my NA->TT conversion sheet detailing the build from an NA engine to TT spec. : This is directed at all of you:
: Fred (I'll start with you first) you know a lot about Z's having hung around w/ Kyle for at least as long as I've known you guys. However, you do have a tendency to make flippant comments that are not really warranted (usually directed at Jack B.) Chill on that stuff, please. (BTW, you were justified in this instance in my mind). : Ash, I can tell you're a smart guy. I'm confident you could make a 25psi turbocharger out of a few rat droppings for $3.95. HOWEVER, you are probably the most arrogant dude I have run across in a long time. : Many of your posts on here are extremely valuable, but you need to eat a big helping of humble pie. You are not the first, last, or greatest Z mechanic and fab whore to ever live. There are people on here that know as much or more than you do. I know that when you are sure that you're right you want to make sure everybody else knows too. I am the same way. Unfortunately you usually present it (I've seen multiple cases) by calling the naysayer a moron, idiot, dumbass, or whatever else comes to mind. I've also seen a few cases where said 'moron' in the end proved you wrong because your original basis was flawed. : My grandpa always said you don't learn nothin' when the mule kicks you in the head the second time. I suggest you take that to heart a little bit and have valuable discussion/debates on the finer points of Z engineering without name calling and a holier-than-thou attitude. The intent of those makes the forum great. The usual spirit of them makes the forum an ugly place. : Kyle, well, you know ... :-)
